Adding a Volume

When administrator create a Physical/Hybrid file reference, the system automatically creates a volume for this Physical/Hybrid file reference. Volumes are typically used to limit the number of items, by partitioning records by month or by year.

A volume inherits the same properties of a Physical/ Hybrid File such as

  •  Retention schedule of the Physical/Hybrid file reference under   which it is created.
  • Security Grading determine the Roles and Users who can access the volume and control the permissions that are granted to each Role or User.
  • and many more

To add a new Volume for a Physical/Hybrid Subject File,

 1. Click on Module Switcher at the top bar and select KRIS Administrator module.

2. Click on Manage File Reference link under Manage Classification section.

3. Click on Classification Tab for e.g. Subject.

4. Click on to expand the classification.

5. Right Click on a File Reference in the tree view.

6. Click on Add Volume option.

The second volume is created automatically and inherited all properties from the previous volume.
